This video explains how to properly connect your spray equipment, using parts and tools purchased at your local Harbor Freight store. The sequence of air flow is:

Compressor → “Wet” Air Hose → Air Filter → “Dry” Air Hose → Flow Valve →Spray Gun

To prevent contaminants from entering your spray gun, it is important that the “wet” and “dry” air hoses never get swapped out of their roles. To ensure this, we will intentionally give each air hose different connectors on each end:

• The hose from the compressor output to the air filter is the “wet” air hose; as it may carry moisture from the compressor. The “wet” air hose is terminated with two male connectors.
• The hose from the air filter output to the spray gun is the “dry” air hose; as it will only carry clean, dry, filtered air. The “dry” air hose is terminated with a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other.

When applying Teflon tape, wrap clockwise around the fitting (in the same direction as the threads). Start on the second thread down from the top of the fitting, leaving the first thread exposed. This prevents the tape from entering and potentially clogging the spray gun or hose connections.

Once all fittings are assembled, use two adjustable crescent wrenches to securely tighten all connections.
